On the eve of NO KINGS DAY - a question that has been on repeat in my mind - “how can I be of service?” in this moment. I am physically not able to be in the streets (still recovering from the car accident), so what can I do instead.
I can share information. (Please read this piece by )
And this Note from :
I can listen, watch, witness, tell about it.
I read a powerful piece by
yesterday, in which she wrote about the lonely feeling that is present when you feel like you’re the only one who sees, the only one who says anything. Read here:So, at the very least I can be here so that others know they are not alone.
I can hand out my “you are loved” stickers. Something so small but so big all at once. (Thank you )
I see it all and I feel it all. The heaviness weighing on us. And then I remember that we the people have the power and there are far more of us pushing for better. We are not alone in this fight.
So, do not despair friends, as long as we stick together - we’ll get through this mess. Not unscathed, and not without losses, but stronger because we have each other.
If you’re planning to be out in the streets please be safe, take all the precautions, and know your rights!
If you’re not able to be out there either, what are some things you’ll be focused on? Please feel free to share with us in the comments!
Thank you as always for being here and reading my words. I know it’s been a lot lately so if you’re here, just know it means the world to me.
Take care of yourselves and each other.
Big love to all of you!
Xoxo - Mesa
I live in Australia, I worry for you and I love you all. Please be safe, peaceful demonstration, because I care for you all just like you were my children. I’m praying for each and everyone of you. You’re my heroes standing up to a tyrant. Bless you all. I’m telling Jesus to hold and protect each and everyone of you 💛
Mesa — this speaks to me tonight. So much of what you name here — being present, witnessing, staying in connection — feels like service in ways we often underestimate.
And yes, sometimes these small gestures carry more weight than we know. Stickers, words, listening ears — all of it matters.
I smiled reading this and thinking, too: of my five dearest people on Substack, two live in Las Vegas. I still can’t quite fathom that. The threads that bind us cross such unexpected places.
It’s nearly 23:00 here in Germany — I may step outside soon. There is talk of Northern Lights tonight. And whether I see them (if yes I'll post photos, we are quite southern already for Northern lights, so a rare treat) or not, I will be holding this same knowing: we are many, we are here, we are not alone.
Big love across the ocean to each one of you.
Hope your injuries are at least healing well.
