Thank you, Mesa, this made me smile today. I too am always working on multiple projects. Helps me to feel purposeful and grounded. Right now, i'm outlining books two and three in the Pearly franchise.

Yes, and I am testing titles for Book 2. I think I've narrowed it down to these - which do you like better: 1) Pearly Gates and the Midnight Croissant, 2) Pearly Gates and the Parisian Situation

You had me at Midnight Sunflowers!🌻 I’m working on courage to actually write, or the faith to believe in my ability to.

Mesa, I love hearing from you in this way. Simple words about simple things. I also have this tendency to work on different projects at the same time. Now I have 5. My mind is all over the place. This may prevent me from ever being successful in the normal sense of the term. But I just must do what I love. Un part created by specific choices, and yet always also a privilege. To do what we love, a luxury. If you think about it, it is crazy. I also have a deep rooted nostalgia for typewriters. My grandma was a school secretary. They made writing so much more romantic. I can hear the sounds it made as my grandma typed away. She taught me. Using all the fingers, instead of thumbing it out on a phone. Love to you and your book and all your projects and the simple things. xo

Thank you, Danni! My grandma taught me to type too. She was head librarian of the EPA and was constantly writing things. Oh nostalgia is such a powerful thing.

I think success is whatever we define it to be for ourselves. And you’re so right - what a privilege indeed to do the things that mean something to us. 🩵

Big love to you!!

Mesa—

You made me smile today. Right up to the part where my own #PrideOnThePage prompt waved at me like, “Hey, remember me?” And suddenly I found myself squinting at the word offer like it was trying to sell me something I already gave away. Strange how quickly a word can shift shape—when you're the one being offered, it starts to feel more like... a listing. “Lightly used, occasionally dramatic, prone to wild storytelling—take one home today.”

Still, your joy in the middle of all this—those 13 million feet moving together, the typewriter ribbon, the story already titled and waiting—that’s what shimmered through. “Midnight Sunflowers” is a name that carries warmth even before the page begins. I’m so curious where it leads you.

As for me, I’m somewhere between unstifling and uncovering. Some days the words arrive dressed for dinner. Some days they show up barefoot. And still—here we are, making room.

Grateful you shared this. In this with you my friend. Take care. xoxo

Hi Mesa... as a fan of your writing, be they blurbs of your thoughts or actual stories... DON'T EVER STOP WRITING! Your words make people think and respond in ways they never thought.

For me, I'm in the retired, caring for my wife period of my life, enjoying reading (always have) and wandering bookstores to see what I'm going to request from the library.

In one's late 70s, and living off Social Security and a small pension, it's difficult to do much more than live for oneself and family, and good friends.

Oooooo…. Morning tea here with your Sunflower news, Mesa! We planted African Sunflowers here a couple months ago. They’ve just started to bloom! Will send photos.

I too am working on projects. A memoir. Poems. And am open to stories too! Something funny and playful.

Oh, and dope typewriter! I have an old typewriter too. Word geeks always!

Love to Ben.
